Fixed for 12 months from date of appointment (with likelihood of continuation beyond that time subject to funding) 

About YouthBorders:

YouthBorders aims to be a best practice and innovative membership organisation, supporting and promoting good quality youth work. YouthBorders is an area association of Youth Scotland, the network of community based youth work, which enables us to bring the most up to date services, training and support to the youth work sector. Through our membership YouthBorders facilitates networking opportunities, events and provides information for voluntary and community based youth organisations, their volunteers, trustees, youth workers and other partners in the community.

About the Role:

Through a unique collaboration of funders, YouthBorders are seeking a talented, organised, and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about youth work and reducing health inequalities to join our team.  This is a new role in our organisation, and through effective partnership working will deliver the following:

  • To lead on the provision of health improvement training, and contribute to the YouthBorders training programme – through the identification of training needs, training providers, delivery of in-house training, and evaluation of its impact on youth work practice, with the overall aim of improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities in children and young people.
  • To co-ordinate and deliver a training pathway to address health inequalities in children and young people across health improvement areas, including but not limited to, emotional health and wellbeing, nutrition, consent and healthy relationships, tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
  • To assist YouthBorders to become a best practice and innovative membership organisation, supporting and promoting good quality youth work in the Scottish Borders.
