Grade 4 (£26,390 per annum)

Contract Duration:
Fixed for 12 months from date of appointment (with likelihood of continuation beyond that time subject to funding) 

About YouthBorders:

YouthBorders is the network of voluntary and community-based youth organisations in the Scottish Borders, supporting and promoting good quality youth work.
As a membership organisation, YouthBorders facilitates networking opportunities and events, and provides information and advice to voluntary and community-based youth organisations, their volunteers, trustees, youth workers, and other partners in the community. YouthBorders is recognised regionally as the strategic voice of third sector youth organisations and works closely with partners in the public sector to improve outcomes for young people.

Our vision is a voluntary and community-based youth work sector which is connected, collaborative, respected, and recognised; working together to improve the lives of young people in the Scottish Borders.

About the Role:

Through a unique collaboration of funders, YouthBorders are seeking an experienced youth work practitioner with an interest in reducing health inequalities to join our team to lead on the provision of workforce training.  This is a new role in our organisation, and through effective partnership working will:

  • Lead the provision of health improvement training and contribute to the YouthBorders youth work training programme.  They will identify training needs, training providers, deliver in-house training, and evaluate its impact on youth work practice, with the overall aim of improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities in children and young people. 
  • Co-ordinate and deliver a training pathway to address health inequalities in children and young people across health improvement areas, including but not limited to, emotional health and wellbeing, nutrition, consent and healthy relationships, tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
  • Assist YouthBorders to become a best practice and innovative membership organisation, supporting and promoting good quality youth work in the Scottish Borders.
