AdvancedYouth Offending Service
Delivered by Scottish Borders Council Social Work, the Youth Offending Service works with young people 8-173/4 who have committed an offence or who are at risk of re-offending.
It consists of 3 levels of service:
Offence Resolution Project (diversionary service)
Mainstream (assessment service)
Fast-Track (persistent offenders)
The Offence Resolution Project and Fast-Track services can only be accessed via the Children's Reporter.
The service works with different organisations across the Borders to support young people in addressing their offending behaviour as well as offering alternatives to offending by helping young people break the cycle.
The Youth Offending Service has close association with the Children's Hearing System and has direct links with Lothian and Borders Police and Children's Reporter aiming to address offending by young people in the Scottish Borders.
