This training is designed to support a change in confidence to deliver informal literacies activity within youth work opportunities. It will help people who work with young people to feel equipped to make use of the informal, situated literacies opportunities that arise in the course of their work with young people. The anticipated course outcome is that practitioners will feel more confident to support integrated youth literacies opportunities within youth work. Training is based on 3 underpinning principles that support effective learning in literacies:
- Promoting self determination
- Developing an understanding of literacies
- Recognising and respecting difference and diversity
