A massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported us yesterday – young people, member groups, partners, funders, Councillors, MP and officials. We were blown away by the support and also by the four young people who played or spoken at the showcase event – their stories and journeys were moving and an inspiration to us all and we thank them for taking part and being such a key part of the evening. The stands were varied, colourful and well supported and the food around was delicious. It really was a showcase of all the amazing youth work going on in the Borders, the incredible impact of youth work in the community and the strong outcomes of building resilient communities to provide the best possible outcomes for children and young people in the Borders. We should be very proud of the partnership work going on and continue to press for recognition of our impact, both as a sector and as a strong cross sector partnership in the Borders. Last night we also paid tribute to the support and partnership working with funders and the Council but also with Donna Manson, Director of Children’s Services in particular and our Chair thanked her as she heads off to the Highlands for all her hard work and support of youth work and young people over the past year.
